Heaters for Green Houses

In the greenhouse, to grow certain plants successfully, it is important to provide and maintain suitable temperature levels throughout the year for the healthy growth of plants. For this the space heaters for greenhouses play a vital role in helping maintain the temperatures. While looking for a heater for your greenhouse, you need to select space heaters with sufficient output to maintain the required minimum winter night temperatures efficiently. Also consider the installation and running costs of various greenhouse heaters.

There are certain heaters that are suitable for greenhouses. These are Electric heaters: provide the most flexible source of heating for smaller greenhouses and the most efficient means of maintaining specified temperatures. Thermostatic controls of electric heaters ensure no wastage of heat in changing external conditions and require no ventilation.

Gas heaters: are fuelled by natural gas and are considered as less efficient and convenient than electric heaters. With the gas heaters in the greenhouse ventilation is required as they emit combustion into the greenhouse atmosphere. Thermostat settings are also less precise with the greenhouse gas heaters.

Paraffin heaters: provide the most basic means of greenhouse heating. They need frequent re-filling and wick-trimming; the need for fuel deliveries and storage are further disadvantages. Paraffin direct discharge heaters release water vapor and fumes into the greenhouse as they burn and some ventilation is important. Most are suitable as a standby option.
